This site is intended to show you as many of the flowers which may be seen at different times of the year in Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve as I can manage.
I have tried to design the site so that the photos are scaled to the size of your browser's window. If you want to take a closer look then I suggest that you click on the photo which will produce the full size image for you to scroll about on; otherwise you could download them and view them in an application which allows you to zoom in. ...and look at even bigger fuzzy photos.
Each time I walk in the Nature Reserve I take a camera and take snaps of as many of the flowers as I can. I am no botanist so some of the flowers shown in these pages have no adequate description or, indeed, names. I have done as much research as I can both on the internet and in a book I have.
The most significant help I receive is from Jacqeline Rose who is a committee member (2012/2013) of the Friends of Hastings Country Park Nature Reserve and who has prodigious botanical knowledge.
If you know something about any of these anonymous flowers please
email me and I will strive to keep the site up to date.
Please click on the email link which you should find in the description box for the flower which you know about because the email will then have a subject line which I can use to identify the flower quickly. Please send as much detail as you can and if you have better photos, which, let's face it, is quite likely, please send those as well.
...and, for that matter, if you have any photos of other flowers from the Nature Reserve which I haven't already got, it would be good to incorporate those as well. So please email them with as much information as possible including the time of year when they prevail.
...and, for that matterē, if you notice that the accuracy is lacking in places where I have put a name and details which I thought were correct then please email the corrections with as much information as possible.
